Kuldeep Yadav is on the verge of making history in the ongoing T20 Asia Cup. The talented spinner has already taken seven wickets in two Group A matches and is gearing up to play against Oman this Friday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. If Kuldeep manages to take four more wickets in this match, he will surpass Ravindra Jadeja’s record and become India’s highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup history.

**Chasing the Record**

As per ESPNcricinfo, Ravindra Jadeja, who has retired from T20 Internationals, holds the record with 29 wickets in 26 Asia Cup matches across ODIs and T20Is. Kuldeep Yadav is closing in fast with 26 wickets from just 13 matches at an impressive average of 14.03. Since India has already qualified for the Super-Four stage, Kuldeep’s chances of breaking this record look promising.

Notably, only Sri Lankan legends Lasith Malinga (33 wickets) and Muttiah Muralitharan (30 wickets) have taken more wickets than Jadeja in Asia Cup history.

**Kuldeep Yadav’s Career Highlights**

Kuldeep’s current form has been exceptional. He earned the Player-of-the-Match award in India’s first two games, with standout bowling figures of 4/7 and 3/18. Overall, he has taken 76 wickets in 42 T20Is with a remarkable economy rate of 6.66. His achievements include two four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls, boasting a bowling average of 13.10.

**Most Wickets for India in Asia Cup T20Is**

In the Asia Cup T20I format, Kuldeep has already picked up seven wickets in two matches. The current record for most wickets by an Indian in Asia Cup T20Is is held by Bhuvneshwar Kumar, with 13 dismissals in six matches. He is followed by Hardik Pandya with 12 wickets from 10 matches, and Jasprit Bumrah with nine wickets from seven matches.

**Milestone Alert: Arshdeep Singh Approaches 100 T20I Dismissals**

Alongside Kuldeep’s record chase, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh is also on the cusp of a significant milestone. He needs just one more wicket in the upcoming match against Oman to complete his 100th T20I dismissal. Achieving this feat would make him the first Indian cricketer to reach 100 wickets in the shortest format of the game. It is worth noting that Arshdeep was rested for India’s first two games in the tournament.

Stay tuned as these Indian bowlers continue to make waves in the Asia Cup.
