Jharkhand can contribute uranium for nuclear weapon manufacturing: CM

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday highlighted the state’s rich uranium reserves, stating that Jharkhand can play a significant role in the manufacturing of nuclear weapons.

Addressing the Defence East Tech symposium, Soren emphasized his government’s willingness to fully cooperate with the Centre to make India’s defence sector self-reliant.

“Jharkhand is endowed with uranium and can contribute to nuclear weapon manufacturing. The state government is ready to cooperate fully with the Centre to make the defence sector self-reliant,” he said.

Uranium is a key component for the development of nuclear weapons, making Jharkhand’s reserves strategically important for the country’s defence capabilities.
