These plaques trace their manufacturing origins to the United Kingdom. Earlier reports by mid-day highlighted that these plaques will be saved, and efforts are underway to ensure their preservation.
The iron bell, located between platforms 1 and 2, is a popular selfie spot among commuters. According to a WR spokesperson, authorities plan to save the bell and are considering relocating and restoring it. There is an extensive heritage gallery at Churchgate Station, and the artefact may find a new home there.
What is heartening is that this bell, which has already been saved once before, will be protected again—along with the heritage plaques.
