**Seva Pakhwada Launched Across India to Mark Significant Initiatives and Milestones**
The Seva Pakhwada (Service Fortnight), under Maharashtra government’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Rajaswa Mission, was formally inaugurated in Palghar by District Collector Indu Rani Jakhar, an official confirmed on Friday. This 15-day-long initiative has been launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to commemorate the 75th birthday of its pre-eminent leader.
Running from September 17 to October 2, Seva Pakhwada aims to provide citizens with direct access to government services and ensure faster delivery of welfare scheme benefits. The programme reflects the state government’s ongoing efforts to bring efficient, people-centric governance to the grassroots level, according to reports from the news agency PTI.
During the launch, Jakhar reviewed various development initiatives and government schemes across Jawhar and Mokhada talukas. She also inspected farm ponds constructed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). Notably, in Mokhada taluka, 53 farm ponds have been approved for 2025-26, with 35 in Poshera, 10 in Hirve, and eight in Ase. Each pond has a water storage capacity of approximately 2.5 lakh litres.
**Global Participation in Delhi’s Seva Pakhwada: Diplomats Plant Saplings**
In New Delhi, diplomats from 70 countries took part in a sapling plantation drive at the Central Ridge as part of the Delhi government’s Seva Pakhwada. A total of 75 diplomats, along with Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, attended the event.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign by planting a tree and praised the involvement of foreign diplomats in transforming the campaign into a symbol of global cooperation and shared responsibility. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she described the campaign as not only an environmental conservation effort but also a gesture of gratitude towards Mother Earth.
Minister Sirsa echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the participation of diplomats from around the world has elevated the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ mission into a truly global event.
**Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Launch Seva Pakhwada and Other Initiatives in Madhya Pradesh**
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for the country’s first-ever PM MITRA Park during his upcoming visit to Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. Alongside, he will officially launch the fortnight-long Seva Pakhwada.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that PM Modi will also inaugurate the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan at Bhainsola village in Dhar district on the same day. The campaign aims to promote health and empowerment for women and families in the region.
With these coordinated efforts across multiple states, the Seva Pakhwada campaign underscores the government’s commitment to inclusive development, environmental sustainability, and enhanced public service delivery.
