Australia’s Georgia Voll and Ellyse Perry delivered outstanding performances with the bat in the 3rd and final Women’s ODI against India, held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
After a solid start by Alyssa Healy, who scored 30 runs, Georgia Voll and Ellyse Perry took charge of the innings. Voll put on 43 runs alongside Healy for the first wicket before building a commanding 107-run partnership with Perry. Following Voll’s dismissal, Perry continued the momentum by forging a 106-run stand with Beth Mooney. Australia ended their innings at 256/3 when Perry was finally dismissed.
**Valiant Knock from Georgia Voll**
Healy gave Australia a brisk start but was out in the 5th over. Perry then joined Voll in the middle, and the duo dominated the Indian bowling attack. Together, they took Australia to 150 before Voll fell after a resilient innings of 81 runs.
Voll’s maiden fifty in WODIs came off 68 balls, featuring 14 fours and a strike rate of 119.12. Playing only her 5th WODI, Voll has amassed 254 runs at an impressive average of 63.50. Notably, all her appearances have come against India, with this being her second match on Indian soil after previously being dismissed for a duck.
**Ellyse Perry’s Masterclass**
Perry’s unbeaten 68 runs included 7 fours and 2 sixes from 72 balls. Appearing in her 158th WODI, Perry now boasts 4,329 runs from 131 innings at an average of 49.19. This knock marked her 36th fifty in WODIs and her third century.
Against India specifically, Perry has a record of 864 runs at an average of 43.20 from 25 innings in 30 matches, including seven fifties and one century.
**On the Cusp of a Milestone**
Perry is also rapidly closing in on a significant milestone in her career. She needs just 36 more runs to reach 2,000 away runs in WODIs, currently holding 1,964 runs at an average of 50.35 on opposition soil, featuring one hundred and 17 fifties.
