The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), the parent company behind the popular Amul brand, has announced significant price reductions on more than 700 of its product packs. This move comes in response to the recent cut in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates. The new, lowered prices will take effect from September 22, 2025.
### Wide Range of Products Covered
The price cuts cover a broad spectrum of Amul products. Key dairy staples such as butter, ghee, UHT milk, and ice cream are included. The reductions also extend to bakery items and frozen snacks, as well as other favorites like cheese, paneer, chocolates, malt-based drinks, and peanut spread.
### Details of Price Reduction
Some of the notable price changes include:
– Amul Butter (100 gm): Price reduced from ₹62 to ₹58
– Ghee: Reduced by ₹40, now priced at ₹610 per liter
– Amul Processed Cheese Block (1 kg): Price cut by ₹30 to ₹545 per kg
– Frozen Paneer (200 gm): Reduced from ₹99 to ₹95
These adjustments are part of GCMMF’s ongoing effort to make essential dairy products more affordable for households across India.
### Commitment to Consumer Welfare
GCMMF emphasized that passing on the full benefit of the GST reduction to customers aligns with its promise to offer high-quality dairy and food products at competitive prices. Amul’s price cuts follow a similar announcement by Mother Dairy, which has also reduced milk prices by ₹2 per liter starting September 22, 2025.
This proactive approach by major dairy brands reflects a positive impact of the GST tax cut on everyday consumer goods, ultimately benefiting millions of Indian households.
