In a significant development for consumers, television manufacturers have announced price reductions ranging from ₹2,500 to ₹85,000. This move comes in response to the recent reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates on TV sets.

### GST Rate Reduction on TVs

The GST Council recently declared a cut in GST rates effective from September 22, 2025. Specifically, the GST on television sets with screen sizes over 32 inches has been slashed from 28% to 18%. This tax reduction forms part of the government’s broader initiative to boost consumption of consumer goods.

### Price Cuts Passed on to Consumers

Following the announcement, leading TV manufacturers are passing on these tax benefits directly to consumers by lowering their Maximum Retail Prices (MRP).

### Sony and LG Roll Out New Price Lists

Top brands like Sony and LG have updated their price catalogs reflecting the GST reduction. LG Electronics India has cut prices on a range of models—from 43-inch TVs to massive 100-inch screens—by amounts between ₹2,500 and ₹85,800.

### Panasonic Announces Significant Discounts

Panasonic has also reduced prices considerably. Its 43-inch TV models now come with discounts ranging from ₹3,000 to ₹4,700. For 55-inch TVs, prices have been lowered by up to ₹7,000, with models now priced between ₹65,990 and ₹76,990. The flagship Panasonic Life Solutions India 75-inch TV has seen the steepest price drop, now costing ₹3.68 lakh instead of the previous ₹4 lakh.

This GST-driven price adjustment is expected to make premium television models more affordable, encouraging consumers to upgrade their home entertainment systems.
