**Jacqueline Fernandez Moves Supreme Court Against ED’s Money Laundering Case**

Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez has approached the Supreme Court to challenge the Delhi High Court’s refusal to quash a money laundering case filed against her by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The case is linked to the notorious conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and involves transactions worth ₹215 crore.
A bench comprising Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih is scheduled to hear her petition on Monday, September 22.
### Background of the Case
The Delhi High Court had dismissed Fernandez’s petition seeking cancellation of the FIR filed by the ED on July 3. The court clarified that only a trial court has the authority to decide if an accused has committed a crime or not.
Following this decision, Fernandez moved the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s ruling.
### Fernandez’s Defense
Jacqueline Fernandez has strongly denied all allegations against her, asserting that they are baseless and that she was unaware of Chandrashekhar’s criminal background.
The ED had named her as a co-accused in a money laundering case centered around a fraud exceeding ₹200 crore. In its chargesheet filed on August 17, 2022, the ED alleged that Fernandez continued to accept lavish gifts from Chandrashekhar despite being aware of his involvement in criminal activities.
### Additional Allegations by the Enforcement Directorate
The ED further accused Fernandez of failing to verify Chandrashekhar’s claims during online searches and of deleting data from her phone after his arrest. The agency also claimed that she initially concealed details of her financial dealings with Chandrashekhar, only disclosing them after being confronted with evidence.
However, the court has not made any determination regarding the truth of these allegations. It maintained that these claims do not justify the dismissal of the case at this stage.
