**Two Con Men Arrested in Gwalior After Duping Jewellery Showroom Employee in Indore**
*Indore (Madhya Pradesh):* Two con men were arrested from Gwalior while they were attempting to flee after duping and robbing an employee of a renowned jewellery showroom in Indore, police said on Sunday.
One of the accused had contacted employees of two jewellery showrooms, claiming that he was disabled and unable to reach the shops in person to buy jewellery. When an employee of one showroom went to his place, the accused and his accomplice managed to escape with the ornaments, under the pretext of showing them to their sister-in-law on the lower floor.
According to DCP (Zone-2) Kumar Pratik, Pawan Kumar Chouhan from Jhanjaria Jewellers lodged a complaint stating that he had received a call from one Keval Gupta on Friday. The caller told him that he was a divyang (differently-abled) and unable to come to the showroom. He later claimed to be a valued customer and invited Chouhan to his rented flat at Pinnacle Dreams in the Nipania area.
When the complainant arrived, the accused claimed to be the flat owner and said that his sister-in-law lived on the lower floor. He expressed interest in seeing the jewellery. Trusting that the accused could not flee due to his disability, the complainant accompanied him downstairs. However, the accused used the lift to escape with his accomplice, taking jewellery worth Rs 10.5 lakh.
The complainant tried to stop them, but one of the accused pushed him away.
A special team led by ACP (Vijay Nagar) Aditya Patle was formed to arrest the accused. During the investigation, the police gathered information from a cab driver who revealed that he had dropped the duo near Omaxe City on Bypass Road. The accused then fled towards Dewas in another car.
Further inquiries revealed that another driver had dropped them at Bhopal railway station. It was found that the accused were discussing traveling to Delhi via the Shatabdi Express train.
The police tracked the train’s location in Gwalior. With assistance from DSP (Rail) Jyoti Sharma, the Gwalior GRP officials were contacted and provided with the details of the accused. The GRP police arrested the accused from the last coach of the train and handed them over to the Lasudia police station staff.
**Accused Booked Flat Through Airbnb**
According to the police, the arrested men have been identified as Vishal Shera, a resident of West Delhi, and Pramod Sen, from Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh.
During questioning, the accused allegedly admitted that they had booked the flat through Airbnb and falsely told the jewellery showroom employee that they owned the flat. They had also contacted another jewellery showroom, whose employees had visited the flat, but by then the accused had already fled.
Two gold chains and two gold bangles worth Rs 10.5 lakh were recovered from the accused. They are currently being questioned further by the police.
