**Indore Mayor Conducts Surprise Inspection at MY Hospital Following Rat Attack Incident**
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In response to the shocking incident at MY Hospital, where two newborns were bitten by rats, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav carried out a surprise inspection of the facility on Monday. This visit comes as the state administration steps into damage-control mode amid growing public outrage over serious lapses in hospital hygiene.
During the inspection, a visibly serious Mayor Bhargav interacted with hospital officials and reviewed sanitation arrangements across the hospital campus. He announced his commitment to personally inspect MY Hospital once every week to ensure strict adherence to cleanliness standards.
The inspection was conducted as part of the ongoing **Seva Pakhwada**, a state-wide initiative running from September 17 to October 2. The campaign aims to promote cleanliness and enhance public service in key institutions.
While Mayor Bhargav acknowledged that conditions inside the hospital had improved since the launch of the initiative, he also pointed out that significant gaps remain in the outer areas of the hospital premises. He revealed that discussions have already taken place with the district administration, and further meetings are planned with the Health and Medical Education Commissioner to address these long-standing sanitation issues.
To strengthen hygiene management, Bhargav announced that a dedicated team of cleanliness and waste management experts from the Indore Municipal Corporation will visit MY Hospital regularly. This team will provide guidance and assistance to the housekeeping agency currently deployed at the hospital.
Additionally, a review meeting will be scheduled soon to devise effective solutions for maintaining hygienic conditions in the hospital’s external areas.
**Strict Measures to Ensure Cleanliness**
Mayor Bhargav emphasized that maintaining cleanliness at MY Hospital is a shared responsibility between hospital authorities and the housekeeping agency. He directed all staff to submit daily hygiene reports to senior officials and the district Collector.
He warned, “Any challenges must be immediately brought to my notice,” and made it clear that strict action will be taken against anyone found negligent in upholding cleanliness standards.
The Mayor’s proactive approach aims to restore public confidence by ensuring that MY Hospital maintains the highest standards of hygiene and patient safety going forward.
