**Bhopal Sanitation Workers to Submit Complaint Against Zone 8 AHO Over Viral Video**
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Sanitation workers’ organisations are set to meet with municipal commissioner Harendra Narayan on Tuesday to submit a formal complaint against Ravindra Yadav, the in-charge Assistant Health Officer (AHO) of Zone 8.
The complaint follows the circulation of a viral video showing Yadav personally cleaning a drain while alleging that the sanitation supervisor was not following his instructions. Initially, municipal officials praised the video as a positive example of leadership. However, leaders of sanitation workers’ organisations have since criticised Yadav’s actions.
According to the workers, the AHO’s public display was a stunt aimed at defaming both the sanitation staff and the local community. Anil Shravan, a leader of the sanitation workers, stated, “Cleaning drains is the responsibility of employees. If the supervisor is not performing, proper action should be taken instead of creating a spectacle.”
Shravan further remarked that if the AHO truly cares about sanitation, he should take it upon himself to clean drains every Sunday when the staff members are on leave. “We appreciate his efforts and can even bring him tea and snacks while he works,” he said sarcastically. “But if he claims employees are not working, why not give them a two-day leave and see how many AHOs actually clean drains?” he added.
