MANILA, Philippines — The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) indicated that inflation may have picked up in September, projecting consumer price increases to average between 1.5 and 2.3 percent.
This anticipated rise is attributed to higher costs in essential commodities such as rice, fish, and fuel, which have added pressure on overall prices.
The forecast follows the August inflation rate, which stood at 1.5 percent—below the BSP’s target range of 2 percent to 4 percent.
