**Pimpri-Chinchwad: Final Ward Structure Released for Upcoming PCMC Election**

The final ward structure for the upcoming Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) election was published on Monday evening. Several changes have been made to the wards, fully accepting objections from Ward No. 1 (Chikhali), Ward No. 6 (Dhawde Wasti), Ward No. 7 (Gavhane Wasti, Bhosari Gaothan), and Ward No. 12 (Talawade Gaothan). Additionally, objections from Ward Nos. 24 and 25 were partially considered. Along with boundary modifications, the names of three wards have also been changed.

The PCMC election will be conducted using the four-member ward system, similar to the 2017 election. The delimitation process considered the 2011 census, which recorded the city’s population at approximately 17.27 lakh.

### Ward Structure and Changes

The PCMC consists of 32 wards in total, represented by 128 corporators. According to the final ward structure published by the Election Commission:
– The Tamhane Wasti area of Ward No. 1 (Chikhali Gaothan) has been added to Ward No. 12 (Talawade Gaothan and Rupee Nagar).
– Gavjatra Maidan and the Municipal Hospital campus, previously part of Ward No. 6 (Dhawde Wasti), along with Chakrapani Vasahat, have been merged into Ward No. 7 (Gavhane Wasti, Bhosari Gaothan).
– The Mhatoba Wasti slum area from Ward No. 24 (Datta Nagar, Padamji Papermill) has been included in Ward No. 25 (Punawale, Tathawade).

### Wards with Name Changes

The names of three wards have been updated as follows:

– **Ward No. 10**
*New Name:* Annasaheb Magar Nagar, Tipu Sultan Nagar, BSNL Area, MIDC Office
*Old Name:* Sambhajinagar, Morwadi

– **Ward No. 11**
*New Name:* Bhimshakti Nagar
*Old Name:* Newale Wasti, Krishna Nagar, Gharkul

– **Ward No. 26**
*New Name:* Wakad
*Old Name:* Pimple Nilakh, Vishal Nagar

### Objections and Rejections

A total of 318 objections were received concerning the PCMC ward structure. Of these, objections from Wards No. 1, 6, 7, 12, 24, and 25 were accepted either fully or partially. The remaining 312 objections have been rejected.

### Population Details

There are 32 wards in total for the PCMC election. Each ward has been allocated a population ranging from a minimum of 49,000 to a maximum of 65,000 residents. Ward No. 1, covering Chikhali Gaothan area, Patil Nagar, Ganesh Nagar, More Wasti area, and Sonawane Wasti, holds the highest population of 65,320. In contrast, Ward No. 5, which includes Gawali Nagar and Chakrapani Vasahat, has the lowest population of 49,049.

### Voter Information

Based on the 2011 census, Pimpri-Chinchwad city’s population was 1,727,692. For the upcoming municipal election, the electoral roll as of July 1, 2025, will be utilized. According to this, the city has 1,700,751 registered voters.

Election department officials have informed that the voter lists have been requested from the State Election Commission. Once received, these lists will be distributed ward-wise to facilitate the election process.

### Reservation Details

The PCMC election wards will have the following reservation categories and seat allotments:

– Women & Men (Each): 64 seats
– Scheduled Caste (SC): 20 seats
– Scheduled Tribe (ST): 3 seats
– Other Backward Class (OBC): 35 seats
– Open (General category): 70 seats

### Official Statement

Assistant Commissioner Avinash Shinde, head of PCMC’s Election Department, said,
*”The notification for the final ward structure for the PCMC election has been published. The Election Commission will announce the schedule for the reservation draw soon. Further action will be taken accordingly.”*
