**Clash in Maharashtra’s Latur Leaves One Seriously Injured Following Dispute Over Tractor Driver**
A serious clash erupted between two groups in Maharashtra’s Latur district, resulting in one person sustaining significant injuries after being hit by a stone. The dispute reportedly began over the hiring of a tractor driver, according to police officials.
The incident took place on Sunday at Hadolti village in Ahmedpur tehsil. As tensions escalated between the groups, one side began throwing stones at the other, escalating the confrontation, said Police Inspector B. D. Bhusnur.
A video of the violent clash and stone-pelting later went viral on social media. In response, police arrested one individual and registered cases against 13 people from both sides involved in the altercation, reports the news agency PTI.
An official detailed the root cause of the conflict, stating, “A tractor driver employed by Narsingh Pawar was hired by Arbaj Pathan for his vehicle. Pawar questioned Pathan’s decision to hire his driver, which sparked an argument between the two.”
The situation worsened when, following the altercation, Pawar allegedly assaulted Pathan with an axe, leaving Pathan with serious injuries, including a broken finger, the official added.
Following the assault, members of the Muslim community reportedly came out in support of Pathan, pelting stones at those siding with Pawar, further intensifying the situation.
Police responded promptly after being alerted and managed to restore order at the scene. Pathan was admitted to a government hospital in Latur, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The police official emphasized that cross-complaints were filed by both groups after the incident. Based on these complaints, cases of attempt to murder have been registered against 13 individuals from the two groups.
Taking the matter seriously, police subsequently arrested Narsingh Pawar. Authorities have assured that the situation in the area is now completely under control.
