Nintendo’s highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 console is set to surpass analysts’ sales estimates as the company ramps up production. According to a recent Bloomberg report, Nintendo is aiming to produce approximately 25 million units by March 2026.
Sources familiar with the matter reveal that Nintendo has instructed its manufacturing partners to increase output in anticipation of sustained demand throughout the holiday season and into the first quarter of 2026. This marks a significant increase from Nintendo’s previous sales expectation of 15 million Switch 2 consoles by the end of fiscal year 2026.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has already seen a strong start, with 5.82 million units sold in the first quarter of FY26. Remarkably, 3.5 million of these sales occurred within the first four days after the console’s launch.
Software sales are also performing impressively. The launch title, Mario Kart World, has sold 5.63 million units, nearly achieving a one-to-one attach rate with the console. This strong software performance further bolsters confidence in the Switch 2’s market reception.
Nintendo’s increased production efforts also underline its resilience amid challenging market conditions, including U.S. tariff measures. Despite these factors, Nintendo maintained its earnings forecast in August, signaling confidence in the console’s ongoing success.
As Nintendo continues to ramp up production and deliver compelling software, the Switch 2 looks poised to maintain its strong presence in the gaming market for years to come.
