**Panthers Extend Winning Streak to Three Games with 13-6 Victory Over Winless Jets**
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (WTVD) — Bryce Young threw a touchdown pass before leaving the game with an ankle injury as the Carolina Panthers defeated the winless New York Jets 13-6 on Sunday, marking their third consecutive victory.
This victory marked the first time since Young was drafted No. 1 overall in 2023 that the Panthers (4-3) have recorded a three-game winning streak with him as their starting quarterback. However, Young was unable to finish the game due to the ankle injury.
Late in the third quarter, Young limped off to the locker room, and the Panthers initially announced his return as questionable before ruling him out. Andy Dalton took over with 34 seconds left in the quarter when Carolina got the ball back, leading 13-3 after an interception by Jaycee Horn in the end zone. Young was sacked for a 12-yard loss on his last snap before Carolina punted.
Before departing, Young had completed 15 of 25 passes for 138 yards and a touchdown. Dalton finished the game completing 4 of 7 passes for 60 yards. With this win, the Panthers moved above .500 for the first time this late in the season since starting 5-3 in 2019. It was also Carolina’s first road victory this season after losing their first three away games.
Xavier Legette had a standout performance, recording nine receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown—his best game of the career.

Meanwhile, the Jets (0-7) remain without a victory under head coach Aaron Glenn, becoming the first coach in franchise history to start his tenure 0-7. The Jets also joined the 1996 and 2020 teams as the only squads in franchise history to start 0-7.
New York faced further quarterback uncertainty as Justin Fields was benched in favor of Tyrod Taylor midway through the third quarter while trailing 13-3. Fields struggled throughout the first half, completing 6 of 12 passes for 46 yards, hindered by the absence of top wide receiver Garrett Wilson, who is sidelined with a knee injury.
With the Jets needing a spark, Glenn inserted Taylor, who was greeted with loud cheers by fans at MetLife Stadium. Taylor showed slightly better success moving the offense but threw two interceptions, disrupting key drives. Taylor finished the day 10 of 22 for 126 yards.
On the Jets’ opening drive, Glenn opted to go for it on fourth-and-5 at the Panthers’ 33-yard line instead of attempting a 51-yard field goal. Fields’ pass to Josh Reynolds fell incomplete, resulting in a turnover on downs. The Panthers capitalized with an efficient drive capped by a 30-yard field goal from Ryan Fitzgerald, taking a 3-0 lead.

New York forced a turnover on downs early in the second quarter when the Jets stopped Rico Dowdle on fourth-and-1 at the Panthers’ 49. On the following third-and-2 from the 41, Fields scrambled for a 4-yard gain but was hit near the head by Nick Scott as he slid to the ground. Although Fields got up quickly, the hit was penalized as a late hit, sparking some pushing and shoving on the field.
Fields, who missed Week 3 with a concussion, was briefly evaluated in the medical tent for a possible head injury and replaced by Taylor. Jets kicker Nick Folk then tied the game at 3 with a 34-yard field goal. Fields returned to the game on the next series.
The Panthers took a 10-3 lead with just over a minute remaining in the first half. Young escaped pressure and found Legette for a 3-yard touchdown. The drive was aided by key conversions, including an 11-yard catch on fourth-and-3 by Tetairoa McMillan and a 26-yard catch-and-run by Chuba Hubbard.
