The next big update for the space MMORPG EVE Online has been officially announced. Titled **EVE Online: Catalyst**, this expansion is set to launch on **November 18, 2025**, bringing a major focus on mining and new gameplay features to the universe.
One of the highlights of EVE Online: Catalyst is the introduction of a mysterious and erratic new ore called **Prismaticite**. This rare resource will offer exciting new challenges for miners as they try to extract and utilize it, adding a fresh layer of depth to the mining profession.
In addition to this new resource, the expansion will introduce the **Pioneer** ship—a new defensive mining vessel designed to bridge the gap between mining frigates and mining barges. The Pioneer offers a balanced combination of defense, resource collection, and hauling capabilities. New capsuleers will have early access to the ship, while Omega players can upgrade it extensively as they progress.
To complement these content additions, CCP Games is also overhauling the mining user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). These improvements aim to streamline mining cycles, making harvesting, collecting, and hauling resources more efficient and intuitive for players.
