YouTube star and child educator Rachel Accurso, better known as Ms. Rachel, and her husband, Mr. Aron, are dedicated to providing struggling parents with valuable resources—while honestly admitting that things don’t always go as planned.
The popular duo, beloved by toddlers and young children alike, draws on their own experiences as parents of a 7-year-old boy and an 8-month-old girl. “Sometimes it works with our kids and sometimes it doesn’t,” Rachel Accurso laughingly told *CBS Mornings* during an interview on Tuesday.
Recalling a memorable moment, Rachel shared, “I have to admit when we were on a plane, we tried the Mr. Aron and Ms. Rachel live show for her.” She added with a smile, “We were singing in the aisles and tap dancing. She wouldn’t have it, so we had to pull out the video on the plane for our own child.”
### New Book Aims to Help with Bedtime Routines
Their latest project, *Ms. Rachel and Bean and the Bedtime Routine*, is designed to assist families in establishing smooth nighttime rituals.
“We’ve struggled with bedtime, and we like to write things for the kids, but also model for the parents within the book,” Rachel explained. “So we kind of go through the whole routine with Bean, and we found a visual checklist really helpful with our son. We try to share ideas that we found useful.”
Emphasizing the importance of routines, she added, “Like any parents, we have times when it gets off—maybe you go on vacation or have a transition to school—but routines help kids feel safe and secure. Getting back to that sameness can really help them feel grounded.”
### Creativity on the Go
Aron Accurso shared that their ideas for new books often come to them on the move. “We’re writing the book in our notes app, saying things like, ‘What do you think of this couplet?’ or ‘How about giving Bean a choice for pajamas?’ We just catch little moments whenever we can,” he said.
### Family Comes First
While the *Ms. Rachel* YouTube channel boasts more than 17 million subscribers and billions of views, the couple stresses that their most important role is being parents.
“We talk to our son about helping others and service. We want to help kids around the world and instill those values in him—that of being a helper,” Rachel said.
Through their work and personal experiences, Rachel and Aron Accurso continue to support families, reminding parents that it’s okay if things don’t always go perfectly—and encouraging them to find joy in the journey.
