‘Halo is on PlayStation going forward’ says franchise’s Community Director

Halo Studios marked the end of one era and the beginning of another last week with the announcement of **Halo: Campaign Evolved**. This Unreal Engine 5 remake of the very first Halo game is set to release next year on Xbox, PC, and, for the first time ever, the PlayStation 5.

In confirming the PS5 release for Halo: Campaign Evolved, Halo Studios also confirmed that future Halo games will come to PlayStation as well.

Halo Community Director Brian Jarrard took the stage at the Halo World Championships last week to share the exciting news. “Halo is on PlayStation going forward, starting with Halo: Campaign Evolved,” he announced, while wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the PlayStation logo.

The announcement sent shockwaves through the gaming community. The official PlayStation post welcoming the Halo franchise received over 12 million impressions on X (formerly Twitter). In response, GameStop boldly declared that the “Console Wars” are over.

What this means for fans is that any future entry in the Halo series will be available on PlayStation platforms—be it the PS5 or the yet-to-be-released PS6.

While we are still likely a few years away from the follow-up to Halo Infinite, one thing is clear: the next chapter in Halo’s saga will launch on both Xbox and PlayStation, marking a new era of accessibility for this iconic franchise.
