Draymond Green Fires Off 5-Word Defense After ‘Sickest’ Compliment from Ex-Teammate Over Wild On-Court Antics

The Golden State Warriors returned to winning ways on Monday with a 131-118 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.

Draymond Green was back to his usual self during the game, showcasing his trademark on-court antics. His lively behavior earned him a compliment from former teammate Nick Young. Re-sharing a clip of Green’s reaction to Santi Aldama’s missed free throw on his Instagram story, Swaggy P praised the Warriors’ center for his wild antics.

“😂😂😂😂 @money23green The sickest dude alive,” Young wrote. “Get that man a 30 for 30 already hahaha.”

Green fired back at Young’s compliment with a witty five-word response. “😂😂😂😂 that man grabbed his neck,” he replied.

The exchange between the two stars stemmed from Green’s animated reaction in the third quarter. After Aldama missed a free throw — which he earned following a flagrant foul by Green — the Warriors star danced, skipped, and celebrated in the Spaniard’s face. The flagrant foul was called after Green grabbed Aldama by the neck from behind, though Green later dismissed the incident as a “soft” tackle.

Green picked up six personal fouls during the game, bringing his season total to 17, the second-highest in the NBA so far. Despite the foul trouble, Green played an important role in the Warriors’ victory. He contributed 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 assists, finishing with a plus-minus of +10 over 28 minutes on the court.

The win improved Golden State’s record to 3-1, bouncing back from their loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. The Warriors will face the LA Clippers in a back-to-back matchup at home on Tuesday as they seek their fourth win of the season.

### Memphis Grizzlies Insider Criticizes Referees and Media for “Specialty Treatment” of Draymond Green

Draymond Green’s antics against the Memphis Grizzlies drew widespread attention across the NBA, sparking reactions from fans and players alike, especially regarding his celebration after Santi Aldama’s missed free throw.

However, a Memphis Grizzlies insider expressed frustration over Green’s behavior and the perceived leniency he receives from officials and the media. Sharing his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), the insider blasted the referees and media for offering “specialty treatment” to Green.

“I will never understand the weird specialty treatment Draymond Green gets from referees and media for being an incessantly dirty player,” he tweeted.

The insider went on: “Draymond Green slammed Santi Aldama to the floor and proceeded to yell, ‘That’s soft as fuck’ to a referee’s face, yet Tuomas Iisalo gets a technical for asking where was the flagrant.”

Despite the criticism regarding accountability, the referees did issue Green a flagrant foul for his tackle on Aldama during the game.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Warriors continue their season.
