**Prince William Takes a Hardline Stance on Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson Over Royal Lodge Residency**
*Updated October 28, 2025, 7:48 p.m. ET*
Prince William is reportedly applying significant pressure on Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to vacate the Royal Lodge, with a stern warning that their daughters’ royal titles could be at risk. According to RadarOnline.com, the monarch-in-waiting has leveraged a powerful threat concerning Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s futures within the royal family.
### William’s Firm Stand on the Royal Lodge
Prince William, 43, previously succeeded in having his uncle, Prince Andrew, stripped of his Duke of York and HRH titles amidst the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal. Now, the fate of Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie’s titles is reportedly on the line if Andrew does not leave his longtime residence.
Former BBC journalist Emily Maitlis shared insights on her *The News Agents* podcast, revealing what she described as a tough conversation between William and the princesses. “There was a question over whether there had been, earlier in the day, a meeting between Prince William and the princesses, Beatrice and Eugenie, saying you guys have to get your dad to move out of Royal Lodge otherwise we will start re-examining the state of your own titles,” Maitlis explained.
Maitlis is well-known for her 2019 BBC Newsnight interview with Prince Andrew, where she pressed the prince extensively on his relationship with Epstein and related controversies.
### Pressure on the Princesses
“They are at the moment allowed to be princesses, but there was a bit of pressure, we understand, being put on the princesses to say this is going to happen,” Maitlis added, highlighting William’s no-nonsense approach toward his cousins.
“Obviously, you can see why Andrew, as a father, would want to keep their daughters happy and keep their titles in place come what may,” she noted.
### King Charles III’s Involvement
Emily Maitlis also revealed that King Charles III played a key role in efforts to persuade Prince Andrew to vacate the Royal Lodge, a grand 30-room estate that Andrew has called home since 2004.
The Palace reportedly hinted to the press that there “may be passing traffic” near the Royal Lodge, stirring media attention. “What we learned what was going to happen on Thursday was that Charles, fresh from the Vatican and his audience with the Pope, was going to come via Royal Lodge to be seen, in other words, reading the riot act to his brother,” Maitlis said.
However, the plan was scrapped when the Palace grew uneasy with the scale of media presence. “When they saw the choppers and helicopters, they thought this has all got too big, this has got out of control, they cancelled the whole thing. The King just went straight home and never came by,” she confirmed.
### Andrew’s Conditions for Leaving
Prince Andrew initially purchased a 75-year lease for the Royal Lodge at a cost of approximately $1.3 million in 2003 and invested millions into renovations. Aside from upkeep fees on the 99-acre Great Windsor Park estate, he has not been paying rent.
A source close to the couple revealed that Andrew is prepared to leave, but only if certain conditions are met: namely, securing two new royal residences—one for himself and one for Sarah Ferguson, who has resided at the Royal Lodge with her ex-husband since 2008.
“Andy is willing to leave, but these are his demands,” the insider said. “He is realistic and knows the writing is on the wall and that his time at Royal Lodge is up.”
According to reports, Andrew wishes to occupy Frogmore Cottage, previously the home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who spent $3 million renovating it in 2019 before stepping back from royal duties.
Meanwhile, Ferguson reportedly has her sights set on Adelaide Cottage, the current residence of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their three children. The family is scheduled to move into the larger Forest Lodge by year’s end.
### William’s Vision for Royal Titles
Prince William is said to have advocated stripping Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie of their royal titles, alongside the removal of Harry and Meghan’s Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles, during discussions about Andrew’s status.
The future king aims to streamline the monarchy by eliminating royal titles for non-working members—a move he believes aligns with his father’s wishes, though King Charles III’s current health challenges have delayed decisive action.
“It should have been done by Charles this week, but William knows he doesn’t have the strength because of his illness. William is understanding of his father’s situation,” a source close to the Prince of Wales commented. “William won’t be afraid to take the next step.”
