Facebook (META) Q3 2025 earnings results beat revenue expectations, tax charge creates EPS miss

Facebook, now known as Meta, has released its latest earnings results for Q3 2025, providing insight into the health of the social media, VR/AR, and AI-focused company.

For the quarter, Meta reported revenue of $51.24 billion, surpassing Wall Street’s expectations of $49.34 billion. This marks a clear win for the company in terms of top-line performance.

However, the earnings-per-share (EPS) results told a different story. Meta posted an EPS of $1.05 per share, falling short of the $6.61 per share expected by Wall Street and the $7.21 estimated in the Earnings Whisper number. The main factor behind this shortfall was a substantial one-time tax charge of $15.93 billion, which significantly impacted the company’s bottom line for the quarter.

Meta noted that without this tax charge, the EPS would have been $7.21 per share, aligning much more closely with analyst expectations.

The company’s Q3 2025 earnings report is available on its investor relations website for those seeking more detailed information. Despite the EPS miss, Meta’s strong revenue performance demonstrates ongoing strength in its core business areas.
