JD Vance dresses up like meme-version of himself for Halloween: ‘Say thank you’

**Happy Hallow-meme: Vice President JD Vance Embraces Internet Culture for Halloween**

Vice President JD Vance fully leaned into internet culture this spooky season, transforming himself into one of the many meme-ified versions of his image that have been circulating online for years.

The 41-year-old Republican donned a dense curly brown wig, pairing it with a red tie and blue blazer—a clear imitation of the bloated, dunce-like version of himself popularized by internet trolls. “Happy Halloween. And remember to say thank you!” Vance said in an Instagram video that concluded with him eerily spinning in a circle while the iconic “Twilight Zone” theme played.

Vance also shared a close-up selfie in costume on X, intentionally widening his eyes to mimic the photoshopped meme version of himself. “MAKE SURE YOU SAY THANK YOU,” the White House captioned the image when sharing it on their official account.

The phrase “thank you” references a chaotic and controversial February Oval Office meeting involving Vance, President Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. During the meeting, Vance reprimanded Zelensky for not expressing enough gratitude for U.S. assistance in Ukraine’s war with Russia.

“Right now, you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the front lines because you have manpower problems; you should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict,” Vance charged during the discussion. This comment quickly went viral, sparking a surge in memes that had already been floating around since his vice presidential debate against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz in October.

These images were heavily photoshopped to make Vance appear stupid, caveman-like, or childlike. Some even advanced to the point where his face was superimposed onto celebrities’ bodies, creating wildly creative memes.

Vance embraced the meme culture from the outset, sharing his own iterations of these images across his social media channels. One heavily edited post shared earlier on Friday featured the caption: “Can you hear the screaming.”

“The fact that people started making memes of JD Vance like this and he basically just shrugged his shoulders and said, ‘Screw it! Let’s roll with it,’ is one of the funniest things to happen in politics over the last decade,” a commenter wrote on X.

“Amazing. Great reminder that in politics, and in life, joining in on the joke is almost always the winning move,” added Gates McGavick of the Republican National Committee.

However, by joining in on the fun, Vance also opened the floodgates to countless internet trolls, who responded to his X post with even more memes. The vice president has not immediately responded to requests for comment regarding his meta Halloween costume.
