The Colorado Buffaloes fell to 3-6 after suffering a brutal 52-17 blowout loss to the Arizona Wildcats in Week 10. It was an embarrassing outing for the Buffaloes from kickoff, as Arizona dominated on both sides of the ball.
Despite the disappointing result, head coach Deion Sanders used the loss as an opportunity to deliver an epic recruiting pitch. During the postgame press conference, the 58-year-old coach was asked how he explains the team’s recent struggles to potential incoming recruits.
Sanders responded by challenging recruits directly, saying, “If you a dawg, you wanna come here and right the wrong. If you a cat, you look at the scoreboard and run. Which one are you?”
The Buffaloes have now allowed a total of 105 points in their last two matchups, while their offense has managed to score only 24 points combined. Things have seemingly gone from bad to worse as Colorado tries to find its footing.
In Saturday’s contest alone, Arizona racked up 417 yards of total offense and forced five turnovers, resulting in a +3 turnover differential on the day. Meanwhile, Colorado’s offense struggled to find consistency, with four different players recording at least one pass attempt and seven different players contributing rushing attempts.
Since the departure of key players Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes have been searching for a clear identity on the field.
Looking ahead, Colorado will have a chance to get back in the win column in Week 11 when they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers. With just three games remaining in the regular season, the Buffaloes must win out to keep their hopes of participating in a bowl game alive.
Deion Sanders and his team know the road ahead will be tough, but the challenge has been set — now it’s time to respond.
