How to take less fall damage in ARC Raiders

You can fall a long way without dying in ARC Raiders, but longer falls still deal damage. Thankfully, there are several ways to mitigate how much fall damage you take from a drop that wouldn’t otherwise kill you outright. We’ve listed them here.

## How to Take Less Fall Damage in ARC Raiders

The best and most consistent way to take less fall damage in ARC Raiders is to roll right as you hit the ground. You need to press the dodge roll button no more than about half a second before you land. If done successfully, your character will dodge roll upon landing, negating or at least significantly reducing the fall damage.

Keep in mind, this technique doesn’t work as well when you’re at the limits of non-lethal falls. It also becomes much harder to pull off when you’re over-encumbered—trust me, I know from experience.

Another way to reduce fall damage is by investing points into the **Sturdy Ankles** Mobility Skill. Every one of its five levels increases your resistance to fall damage, as long as the fall wouldn’t kill you outright on impact.

Additionally, the **Ready to Roll** Skill, also found in the Mobility tree, widens the timing window in which you can successfully roll to negate fall damage. While you’ll still want to avoid being over-encumbered, and the window remains fairly tight even at five stacks of the skill, it’s worth investing if you plan to do a lot of cool-looking parkour.

Ultimately, the best approach is to avoid taking fall damage in the first place. However, if you need to make a hasty getaway, sometimes a long drop is the fastest way out of danger. Stay calm and focused, and you should be able to roll as you hit the ground with ease.
