Donkey Kong Bananza sales are bananas, hits 3.49 million units sold

It’s been in the name since the beginning, and now it’s a reality: Donkey Kong Bananza has sold like a banana bonanza. Nintendo has reported that the latest entry in the Donkey Kong franchise has sold almost 3.5 million units since its release.

Nintendo (NTDOY) released its Q2 FY26 earnings report on November 4, 2025. The report revealed that Donkey Kong Bananza hit 3.49 million units sold since launching on July 17, 2025. While it wasn’t a launch title like Mario Kart World, it’s clear that Donkey Kong remains a must-own game for consumers.

The earnings report also highlighted that the Nintendo Switch 2 has exceeded 10 million units sold since its launch on June 5, 2025. In addition, Mario Kart World has reached 9.57 million units sold, maintaining an almost one-to-one attachment rate since its release.

Donkey Kong Bananza debuted to rave reviews, with Shacknews’ Donovan Erskine awarding it a 9/10. “Donkey Kong Bananza has that Nintendo magic,” Erskine wrote. “There are sequences in this game that instantly crystallized in my mind as iconic Nintendo moments, and the studio’s expertise in 3D platformers makes for a heap of fun and challenging levels.”
