**Lindsay Clancy’s Attorneys Seek Venue Change, Citing Media Scrutiny**
BOSTON (WHDH) — Attorneys for Lindsay Clancy, the Duxbury mother accused of strangling her three young children, have filed a motion to move her trial from Plymouth County to Suffolk County. The defense argues that Clancy cannot receive a fair trial in Plymouth County due to “intense and ongoing media scrutiny” surrounding the case.
Prosecutors allege that Clancy strangled her three children in January 2023 before attempting to take her own life by jumping out a window at her home. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
According to court records, prosecutors maintain that Clancy deliberately planned the murders of her 5-year-old daughter, 3-year-old son, and 8-month-old infant son. In contrast, her defense claims she was over-medicated for postpartum mental health issues at the time of the incident.
Her trial has already been postponed three times.
