Dodgers Lose World Series-Winning Outfielder to Giants

On Saturday, rookie Justin Dean watched from center field as the Los Angeles Dodgers turned a double play in the 11th inning to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of the World Series.

On Monday, Dean celebrated the championship with his teammates during a parade through the streets of downtown Los Angeles.

By Wednesday, he participated in a community event, proudly standing alongside the Commissioner’s Trophy.

However, on Thursday, Dean became the newest member of the San Francisco Giants. The Giants claimed Dean after the Dodgers outrighted him off their 40-man roster.

Although Dean scarcely held a bat after receiving his first major league promotion at midseason, he was a key member of the Dodgers’ outfield and frequently served as a defensive replacement in the postseason as the Dodgers marched to the championship.

More to come on this story.
