Prime Video’s *Reacher* is gearing up for its most action-packed season yet. Alan Ritchson, who plays the no-nonsense ex-military drifter Jack Reacher, recently revealed that *Reacher* Season 4 features a record-setting number of fight scenes.
### Alan Ritchson on Reacher Season 4’s Fight Count and Fatigue
Ritchson shared several updates about the upcoming season, highlighting how the show is pushing the boundaries of its action choreography like never before. “We shot. God, I don’t even know, man. 30? We’ve never shot this many fights. There’s so many,” he told ScreenRant.
However, Ritchson was quick to clarify that every fight serves a purpose. “It’s not just that we’re going for the sake of it. I worry about fight fatigue for audiences,” he admitted.
Making a comparison to *Game of Thrones*, he added, “I watch my wife watch *Game of Thrones*, and I am yawning my way through it, and then the fights start. I’m like, ‘Now it’s getting good.’ The fights start, and she’s like, ‘Oh, wake me up when the fights are done.’ And I’m like, ‘What is that?’”
The actor emphasized that emotional stakes matter just as much as the punches thrown. “I don’t ever want somebody to disengage because they’re just seeing all the fights in the world thrown on screen.”
“There’s got to be stakes and a reason. You’ve got to be invested in feeling for these characters and the reason for what they’re fighting for,” Ritchson continued. “We’ve set a record for the amount of fights that we’ve done this season, but all for good reason. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
