Pokémon Pokopia, the first-ever Pokémon lifestyle simulation game, was initially revealed in September 2025 with a tentative release window set for 2026. Nintendo has now officially announced that the game will launch on March 5, 2026.
The announcement came through a post on X, Nintendo’s social platform. While no new trailer, screenshots, or additional game details accompanied the release date reveal, we do know that Pokémon Pokopia will be a Switch 2 exclusive and arrive in early March.
In Pokémon Pokopia, players take on the role of Ditto, the shapeshifting Pokémon. Although Ditto assumes the form of a human-like figure, it will use its unique powers to harness abilities from various Pokémon. These abilities will help players shape the land, cultivate crops, and construct buildings, offering a fresh gameplay experience within the Pokémon universe.
The game was originally revealed during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct and is being developed by Koei Tecmo. Pokémon Pokopia now joins other anticipated titles scheduled for March 2026, such as 007 First Light and Saros.
The year 2026 promises to be a major one for the Pokémon franchise, as it marks the series’ 30th anniversary in February. With Pokémon Pokopia and other upcoming releases, fans can look forward to an exciting celebration and new adventures in the world of Pokémon.
