Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is just days away from taking players to the undersea world of Bikini Bottom. But Sega and Sonic Team aren’t stopping there — their plans for the game’s first season pass are packed with exciting new content.
During Tuesday’s PlayStation State of Play Japan, several classic Sega characters were revealed. Fans of Sega’s rich history will be thrilled to see NiGHTS, the iconic lead character from the Sega Saturn cult classic *NiGHTS Into Dreams*, join the race. NiGHTS will be racing in his Dream Sleeper Vehicle starting in December.
Following NiGHTS, AiAi from the beloved *Super Monkey Ball* series will take the wheel, with his debut set for January 2026. And continuing the momentum, February 2026 will welcome Tangle and Whisper from Sonic’s comic book universe as playable racers.
Best of all, all these characters — NiGHTS, AiAi, Tangle, and Whisper — will be added to *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds* completely free upon their release dates.
For those looking for premium downloadable content, the next big addition in the CrossWorlds Season Pass is the much-anticipated SpongeBob SquarePants pack. First teased during June’s Kids’ Choice Awards, this pack includes SpongeBob and Patrick as racers, the Patty Wagon vehicle, a Bikini Bottom Course, themed music tracks, and six fun emotes.
The SpongeBob pack is officially set to launch on Wednesday, November 19, at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET. Get ready to race through Bikini Bottom and enjoy this lively, colorful addition to *Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds*!
