The problem, when it comes to people who say they “don’t want cats,” is that they’re not the ones who choose. Cats choose their humans—that is a fact.
If a cat chooses a human who doesn’t actually want to have a cat, quite frankly, that’s the human’s problem. Cats don’t choose just anyone. They choose good people—people who, on a gut level, they feel will be happy to take care of them until the end of their days.
And good people cannot resist cats. Even those who have no particular love for cats will not let them starve or suffer if the cats ask for help.
This is exactly what happened here. A mom who didn’t want a cat got chosen by one. Now, she can pretend all she wants that she still doesn’t want him or that she doesn’t love him more than anything in the world—but the amount of toys, cat food, and especially the cat sling carrier says otherwise.
