This morning, publisher ININ Games stated that Nintendo had recently announced new, smaller cartridge sizes for Switch 2 games. According to ININ Games, this development would assist them in porting games to the upcoming console.
However, just hours later, the studio amended their statement, clarifying that there was no official news regarding cartridge sizes for Switch 2 games.
In a now-deleted post on X, ININ Games had originally written:
“Two days ago Nintendo announced two new smaller cartridge sizes for Nintendo Switch 2. This allows us to recalculate production in a way that wasn’t possible before.”
Following the confusion, the company issued a follow-up post to correct the misinformation and clear up any misunderstandings.
