**Bhopal District and Sessions Court Acquits Trio in Attempted Murder Case**
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Bhopal District and Sessions Court has acquitted Pappu Chatka, Shahrukh alias Devil, and Vicky alias Wahid, giving them the benefit of doubt in an attempted murder case. The court passed the order on Thursday.
The case pertains to an attack on Shahid, a close aide of Zuber Maulana, who sustained 27 stab wounds during the incident. Additional District Judge (ADJ) Manoj Singh delivered the verdict.
The incident occurred on November 6, 2023, at around 11 pm near Pital Mandir. The three accused, known in the city as notorious criminals, reportedly approached Shahid to settle an old dispute. Shahid, who is currently in jail, was accompanied by eight aides on four motorcycles.
According to reports, Pappu Chatka opened fire to disperse Shahid’s henchmen. After two rounds were fired, five of Shahid’s companions fled the scene. However, Shahid and one of his associates were caught. Shahid was then brutally attacked with a knife, receiving 27 stab wounds across his body, including injuries to the veins in his arms and legs. Vicky alias Wahid also attempted to run over both Shahid and his associate with a car.
Shahid, a resident of Karim Baksh Colony, reportedly had a longstanding enmity with Shahrukh alias Devil, related to a personal dispute over a girl.
Advocate Jagdish Gupta, representing the accused, stated, “The prosecution failed to establish the charges before the court, which acquitted the trio on the benefit of doubt.”
