Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A tragic accident occurred during a Dussehra procession in the Gadha area of Jabalpur, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to around 15 others. The incident took place when a heavy iron truss attached to a pandal suddenly collapsed onto the crowd.
The deceased has been identified as Shweta Verma. Her son, Shaurya Verma, also sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. Many of the injured had traveled from different localities to participate in the festivities.
**Stampede Ensued After Truss Collapse**
As the iron truss fell, panic quickly spread among attendees. People screamed and ran for safety while the heavy metal structure crashed to the ground. This sudden collapse triggered a stampede-like situation, which unfortunately worsened the number of injuries.
The injured individuals have been admitted to various hospitals across the city. Medical teams are attending to them, with some reported to be in serious condition.
