**Among Us Animated Series Remains in Development, No Release Date Yet**
Fans of the popular video game *Among Us* have been eagerly awaiting news about the upcoming animated series adaptation. While production on the series wrapped last year, no official release date or major updates have been announced, leaving audiences in suspense.
Innersloth, the studio behind the hit 2018 game, recently addressed the ongoing silence in a message to Cartoon Base on X (formerly Twitter). The studio stated, “TRUST we are still working on the show [.] all that to say no news is coming haha sorry cartoonbase admin i respect ur hustle tho.” This clarifies that, despite continued progress, no new announcements or release details will be shared in the near future.
The *Among Us* animated series was first announced in June 2023 as a collaboration between Innersloth and CBS Studios. The show adapts the game’s social-deduction premise, following a spaceship crew as they try to uncover a shape-shifting impostor among them. Fans were excited by the high-profile voice cast, which includes Elijah Wood, Patton Oswalt, Debra Wilson, Kimiko Glenn, and Dan Stevens.
Production has taken longer than initially expected. Showrunner Owen Dennis told Deadline that the series strikes a balance between “humor with drama” and draws inspiration from sci-fi classics like *Alien*, *Star Trek*, and *The Thing*. In a 2024 presentation, Dennis confirmed that production officially wrapped in August 2024.
Reports also reveal that the series is still being pitched to various streaming platforms, which could explain the lack of release information. A short teaser made its debut at the 2024 Summer Game Fest, showcasing the vibrant animation style and star-studded voice cast.
Most recently, on October 16, 2025, Innersloth provided the first official update in over a year, reassuring fans that development is ongoing. However, the studio reiterated that no new announcements should be expected anytime soon.
While the wait continues, the *Among Us* animated series remains one of the most anticipated projects for fans of the beloved game, promising a unique blend of suspense, humor, and sci-fi adventure when it finally arrives.
