**Samsung Expands Sleep Apnea Detection Feature to Thailand**
The Sleep Apnea detection feature, which debuted last year with the Galaxy Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, is now rolling out in an additional Asian country—Thailand. Originally limited to select regions due to local health regulations and certifications, Samsung is gradually making this valuable health tool available to more users worldwide.
This feature is delivered through an update to the Samsung Health Monitor app on both Galaxy smartphones and compatible smartwatches. Once the app is updated, users need to enable the Sleep Apnea detection feature on their phone and watch to start monitoring.
Sleep Apnea detection is supported on all Galaxy Watches released since the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. For those unfamiliar, Sleep Apnea is a medical condition where a person’s breathing becomes shallow or temporarily stops during sleep. Causes can include tiredness, poor sleep habits, or other underlying health conditions.
If left untreated, Sleep Apnea can contribute to serious long-term health problems such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, and an increased risk of heart attack. Early detection is crucial as it allows individuals to seek timely medical intervention and treatment.
Currently, the Sleep Apnea detection feature is available in over 70 countries, including Canada, the USA, Europe, Australia, and Singapore. In addition to identifying signs of Sleep Apnea, the Samsung Health app offers lifestyle advice to help improve overall health and wellness.
One such tool is Sleep Coaching—a guided program that lasts 3 to 4 weeks and supports users in developing healthier habits to enhance the quality of their sleep.
With this expansion to Thailand, more users can benefit from Samsung’s comprehensive sleep health monitoring, empowering them to take proactive steps towards better sleep and well-being.
