2003 BMW 530i Sport 5-Speed at No Reserve

This 2003 BMW 530i sedan is finished in Black Sapphire Metallic over Sand Beige leather and is powered by a 3.0-liter M54 inline-six engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It comes equipped with the Sport and Premium packages, as well as a sunroof, xenon headlights, 17″ Style 42 alloy wheels, and power-adjustable front sport seats.

The car remained with its original owner in Maryland until 2021, when it was acquired by the current seller through Bring a Trailer (BaT) in September of that year. Under the current ownership, several maintenance and repair tasks have been performed, including replacing the clutch, flywheel, and fifth gear detent. Additionally, the oil filter housing gasket, DISA valve, intake boots, VANOS hose, and vacuum hoses were replaced to ensure reliability.

With 91,000 miles on the odometer—about 12,000 of which were added by the current owner—this E39 530i is now offered at no reserve. The sale includes a window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

The exterior showcases the Black Sapphire Metallic paint complemented by an electric sunroof, xenon headlights, and fog lights. Some areas have been touched up, and there are minor imperfections on the front bumper cover. The 17″ Style 42 wheels are fitted with 235/45 Pirelli P7 AS Plus 3 tires, all bearing 2023 date codes. The car features Sport suspension and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). While the wheels show some blemishes, a set of Goodyear tires is also included in the sale. Notably, a power steering hose was replaced in May 2023.

Inside, Sand Beige leather upholsters the power-adjustable front sport seats and rear bench, accented by tasteful wood trim. Comfort and convenience features include a CD stereo, automatic climate control, cruise control, an onboard computer, and driver-seat position memory settings. The shift knob, driver’s door sill, and center console lid were replaced in 2021, and the driver’s seatback upholstery was repaired under previous ownership. Additionally, the driver’s door window regulator was replaced in January 2023.

The M Sport steering wheel frames a classic BMW instrument cluster with a 155-mph speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer reflects the 91,000-mile total, and both the odometer and radio displays were repaired previously to correct dead pixels.

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter M54B30 inline-six engine was factory-rated at 225 horsepower. Maintenance history includes a valve cover gasket replacement under previous ownership, along with the oil filter housing gasket and VANOS hose replaced in November 2021. The DISA valve, intake boots, and vacuum hoses were replaced in January 2023, and an oil change was most recently performed in March 2025.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through the five-speed manual transmission, which had its fluid flushed in May 2023. The clutch, flywheel, and fifth gear detent were also replaced recently in April 2024. The clean Carfax report confirms the car has no history of accidents or reported damage.

This well-maintained 2003 BMW 530i offers a compelling blend of classic BMW driving dynamics, manual transmission engagement, and thoughtful recent maintenance—making it a desirable pick for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
