The Pokémon series has always been wildly popular, and the latest entry, Pokémon Legends: Z-A, has shown that the franchise still delivers exciting experiences. The Legends spinoff has managed to amass almost 6 million units sold in its first week of release, marking a significant achievement for the franchise.
On October 23, 2025, The Pokémon Company released a statement announcing that Pokémon Legends: Z-A sold 5.8 million units during its first week. This remarkable figure places Pokémon Legends: Z-A in Nintendo’s highly sought-after million-seller club.
While 5.8 million units is an impressive number, it does fall short of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet’s 10 million units sold within the first three days. However, since Scarlet and Violet are two separate games, a more appropriate comparison would be with Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Arceus sold 12.64 million units in 63 days, setting a high benchmark for the spinoff series.
It will be interesting to see how Pokémon Legends: Z-A performs over the next eight weeks, but so far, it has launched at a breakneck pace.
The game has also received rave reviews. Shacknews’ Donovan Erskine praised it, writing that the game “continues the trend of bucking against series norms while maintaining the essence of what makes these games so special for fans.”
