Multiple Delhi Schools Evacuated After Bomb Threats; No Explosives Found

New Delhi: Several schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Saturday, prompting authorities to evacuate students and staff as a precautionary measure. According to the Delhi Fire Services (DFS), institutions including Delhi Public School, Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya were among those targeted.

Similar threats were also reported at some schools in Najafgarh around the same time, coinciding with ongoing examinations, which heightened panic among students and parents.

In response, teams from the Delhi Police, Fire Services, bomb disposal squads, and dog squads were swiftly deployed to the affected locations. Students and staff were evacuated safely, and while searches are still underway, no suspicious items have been found so far, officials confirmed.

The repeated nature of these incidents has raised concerns across the city, causing disruptions to classes and exams. Authorities are investigating the origin of the threats and are looking into whether there is any coordinated pattern behind them.

Saturday’s bomb threats follow a series of similar hoaxes in recent weeks. On September 13, a threatening email claimed that 16 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) had been planted at the Taj Palace Hotel in Chanakyapuri. Security agencies conducted a thorough search of the premises, but the threat was declared a hoax.

Just days earlier, on September 9, bomb threats were issued to the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat and Maulana Azad Medical College, with warnings that explosives would detonate at 2:45 P.M. and 3:30 P.M. respectively. Both threats were found to be false after exhaustive searches.

The city has faced similar scares last month as well. On August 28, over 20 colleges were put on high alert following bomb threats, and on August 21, six schools received warnings of impending danger. In both cases, the premises were evacuated and thoroughly checked with sniffer dogs, but no threats were confirmed.

These recurring false alarms have understandably raised concerns among parents and school staff regarding student safety in Delhi. Authorities continue to heighten security measures and investigate the source of these threats to prevent future incidents.
