The Nintendo Switch 2 has been exceedingly popular, and Nintendo is confident this trend will continue.
On November 4, 2025, Nintendo released its Q2 FY26 earnings report, in which the company updated its hardware sales forecast for the Switch 2. Nintendo now expects to sell nearly 20 million units of the Switch 2 during its 2026 fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2026.
It’s important to note that this forecast covers less than a full year of sales, as the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, 2025. Previously, Nintendo had set a sales expectation of 15 million units for the Switch 2. This new target represents a significant increase of four million units since the company’s May 2025 forecast.
In addition to the revised sales forecast, Nintendo is ramping up production of the Switch 2 to 25 million units by March 2026, aiming to meet the growing demand for the console.
