Democrats won governorships in Virginia and New Jersey, democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was victorious in the race to become the next mayor of New York, and Democrats swept judicial races in Pennsylvania. These results provide a significant boost for the party heading into the 2026 midterms, following widespread losses in the 2024 presidential election.
Liberals have wasted no time celebrating these wins. The term “woke is back” has flooded social media platform X (formerly Twitter), reflecting a surge of enthusiasm among progressive supporters.
Matt Bernstein, host of the A Bit Fruity podcast, shared an image of himself and Mamdani smiling and captioned it “woke is back.” The post has been viewed over 140,000 times. Similarly, Kyle Kulinski, host of The Kyle Kulinski Show, wrote on X, “REST IN P**S MAGA BOZOS WOKE IS BACK,” garnering over 700,000 views.
