The Gujarati cinema is on a roll, and the recent releases have been making significant waves at the box office. One of the Diwali releases, **Chaniya Toli**, made on a modest budget of just Rs. 5 crores, became a blockbuster by crossing the Rs. 16 crore mark. However, an even bigger surprise has come from a small Gujarati film, **Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate**.
Made with a paltry budget of Rs. 50 lakhs, *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* earned a massive Rs. 2.50 crores on its fifth Friday alone (November 7), surpassing *Chaniya Toli*’s collections and showing strong potential to cross the Rs. 30 crore mark.
### Box Office Miracle: Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate
The phenomenal trend of *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* has stunned the trade and industry alike. Released during a dull pre-Diwali period on October 10, the film initially had negligible awareness and featured fresh faces, which resulted in a slow start at the box office. The first week brought in around Rs. 36 lakhs, followed by approximately Rs. 28 lakhs in the second week.
However, from the third week onwards, the collections began to rise steadily. Despite strong competition from *Chaniya Toli* and big Hindi releases like *Thamma* and *Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat*, the film managed to earn Rs. 70 lakhs in its third week. Recognizing the growing demand, theatres increased the number of shows from the fourth Friday, with showtimes rising daily.
By the end of Week 3, *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* had amassed around Rs. 1.34 crores. The fourth week, however, was a game-changer—the film earned an impressive Rs. 14 crores in this period alone!
### The Laalo Phenomenon on Social Media and Screens
Social media buzz played a huge role, with videos showing viewers dancing and celebrating in cinemas during shows, which further piqued curiosity and boosted audience interest.
Until Week 3, 78% of the collections came from non-national chains and single-screen theatres. From Week 4 onwards, the scenario shifted dramatically with *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* enjoying the largest screen count in its fifth week. The film currently holds record numbers of daily shows in key cinema halls, such as:
– 29 shows a day at Rajhans Cinema, Precia, Surat
– 26 shows a day at AB Miniplex, Ahmedabad
– 24 shows at Rajhans Flamingo, Surat
– 22 shows at PVR Arved Transcube, Ahmedabad
Even in Mumbai, from November 7, the movie received considerable screening in cinemas that don’t generally screen Gujarati films, such as Chitra Dadar and Mukta A2 Jai Hind Lalbaug. Additionally, *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* is running house full in Bengaluru and Hyderabad as well.
### Exhibitor’s Take: The Demand is Unprecedented
Kiritbhai T Vaghasia, owner of The Friday Cinema multiplex in Surat, shared his experience with Bollywood Hungama:
> “We usually don’t get advance bookings, but for *Laalo*, shows are booked out well in advance—even an 8:30 am show on a Sunday. I wish my theatre had 10 screens instead of 3; even then, it might not have been enough to meet demand.”
He added:
> “Customers are coming in huge groups, requesting 15 to 30 tickets at once. This is genuine audience demand, not bookings by producers or mandals. Moreover, even if ticket prices increase, it doesn’t reduce footfall.”
Interestingly, in the first week, *Laalo* had zero sales at his cinema hall. But after re-releasing the film on October 31 upon director Ankit Sakhiya’s request, the shows ran house full, leading to a decision to play 20 shows a day on November 9—marking the first time the multiplex will screen a single film across all its screens.
Vaghasia also revealed the unique atmosphere during the shows:
> “People dance during the end credits, making it hard to quickly clean the theatre and start the next show. We usually plan screenings believing most viewers leave during credits, but with *Laalo*, audiences stay and celebrate with garba until the very end.”
He emphasized the film’s widespread popularity on the streets of Surat, where it is a common topic at pan shops and tea stalls, with virtually every mobile phone in Gujarat sharing social media reels related to the film.
### A Divine Success Story
With a Lord Krishna connection central to its storyline, Vaghasia believes the film is blessed:
> “I truly believe Lord Krishna himself has blessed this film. How else can you explain a film that barely had an audience in the first two weeks suddenly running house full everywhere? This is not a big Hindi film but a small-budget Gujarati movie. What we are witnessing is truly a chamatkar (miracle)!”
### Lifetime Collections and Future Outlook
On its fifth Friday, *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* earned more than the new big Hindi release *Haq*, which collected Rs. 1.75 crores all India on its first day. At Rajhans Cinemas, *Haq* managed just Rs. 1.16 lakhs, while *Laalo* raked in Rs. 34.27 lakhs—29 times more—on its 29th day.
The film is projected to earn Rs. 4 to 5 crores over its fifth Saturday and Sunday, potentially crossing the Rs. 25 crore mark comfortably. If the current momentum continues, there is a strong possibility that *Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* will enter the Rs. 30 crore club, and a lifetime collection of Rs. 40 crores cannot be ruled out.
### Conclusion
*Laalo Krishna Sada Sahaayate* has become a landmark film for Gujarati cinema, proving that even low-budget films with new faces can achieve massive success against stiff competition, given heartfelt storytelling and growing word of mouth. With its extraordinary run and increasing audience demand, this film is redefining what’s possible in the regional film industry.
