Dalton Knecht plays 25 minutes for Lakers at Atlanta

Atlanta (5-5) defeated Los Angeles (7-3) 122-102 on Saturday at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Former Vol Dalton Knecht contributed 14 points, four rebounds, and one assist in 25 minutes for the Lakers. He made 5-of-11 field goal attempts, 2-of-5 three-point attempts, and 2-of-2 free throw attempts. Luka Doncic led the Lakers with 22 points, while Jared Vanderbilt added 12 points.

Knecht was selected in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft (No. 17) by Los Angeles. He transferred to Tennessee from Northern Colorado and played for the Vols during the 2023-24 season under head coach Rick Barnes. During his one season at Tennessee, Knecht averaged 21.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game.

He played a key role in leading the Vols to an SEC regular-season championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight for only the second time in school history.

Los Angeles will next play on Monday at Charlotte. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST at the Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
