Packers hold off Giants 27-20

The Green Bay Packers snapped their two-game losing streak with a narrow 27-20 victory over the New York Giants. The win was all but sealed when Packers’ Evan Williams intercepted Giants quarterback Jameis Winston in the end zone with just 36 seconds remaining.

The Packers improved their record to 6-3-1, while the Giants fell to 2-9. Late in the game, facing a critical third-and-6 from Green Bay’s 14-yard line, Winston tried to connect with Jalin Hyatt in the end zone. Williams’ interception effectively ended the Giants’ comeback hopes.

The Giants did regain possession with 10 seconds left, but their efforts were thwarted when Micah Parsons sacked Winston, forcing a strip-sack that was recovered by Rashan Gary. Parsons had an outstanding game, recording six tackles, 1.5 sacks, three quarterback hits, and a forced fumble.

Starting his first game of the season, Winston finished with 201 yards on 19-of-29 passing, along with one interception and a fumble. Despite the loss, the Giants outgained the Packers 336 to 296 yards.

For Green Bay, quarterback Jordan Love missed seven plays in the first half due to a left shoulder injury, with Malik Willis stepping in to finish a touchdown drive. Love ended the game completing 13-of-24 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns.

Willis was perfect on his two pass attempts for six yards, including a 1-yard touchdown throw to Christian Watson. Watson was a key contributor throughout, hauling in four catches for 46 yards, including a spectacular 17-yard touchdown reception from Love that gave the Packers the lead with 4:02 remaining.

Set up by a critical 32-yard catch on third-and-10 by Savion Williams to the Giants 20-yard line, Watson’s game-winning touchdown capped an impressive drive.

The Giants faced another setback as running back Josh Jacobs left the game in the first half with an ankle injury. Before exiting, Jacobs rushed seven times for 40 yards.
