6.0L Vortec-Powered 1966 Cadillac DeVille Convertible at No Reserve

This 1966 Cadillac DeVille convertible was purchased by the seller in 2025 following several modifications that transformed this classic into a unique, modernized cruiser. Notable upgrades include a blue vinyl wrap covering the body, a lowered suspension, and upgraded power-assisted disc brakes in the front. Under the hood, the original powertrain has been replaced with a 6.0-liter LQ4 Vortec V8 engine, paired with a rebuilt 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission featuring enhanced components for improved performance.

The exterior styling retains the Cadillac’s iconic character, featuring a chrome grille, bumpers, and trim, complemented by vertically stacked quad headlights, rear fender skirts, and prominent rear tailfins. A power-operated white soft top with a matching soft top boot adds both style and convenience, while 15″ steel wheels with covers and whitewall tires complete the classic look. The suspension has been lowered approximately 2 inches using aftermarket springs, and handling is further enhanced with power steering and an aftermarket front sway bar.

Inside, the cabin is appointed with white leather upholstery over front and rear bench seats, contrasted by a blue upper dash pad and matching carpets. Comfort and convenience features include a power-adjustable front bench, power windows, automatic climate control, and an AM/FM radio. The audio system has been upgraded with an aftermarket Bluetooth stereo, JBL door speakers, remote-mounted volume control, and dual 12″ Rockford Fosgate subwoofers housed in the trunk, delivering impressive sound quality for modern listening enjoyment.

Instrumentation is classic yet functional, with a horizontal 120-mph speedometer modified to incorporate a GPS module, along with gauges for engine temperature and fuel level. Additional aftermarket Stewart Warner gauges displaying coolant temperature and oil pressure are mounted on the center dash. The steering wheel features the Cadillac crest and is attached to a tilting and telescoping steering column, enhancing driver comfort. The driver’s front window motor was replaced in October 2024, and although the dashboard shows some cracks, overall interior condition remains solid.

The odometer currently reads 1,300 miles, with approximately 100 miles added under the current ownership, though the total mileage is unknown.

Mechanically, the 6.0-liter LQ4 Vortec V8 engine was sourced from a 2002 GMC Yukon and installed in 2021. Prior to installation, the cylinder heads were rebuilt, and key components such as the camshaft, oil pump, and seals were replaced. The engine is equipped with a custom air intake, an aluminum radiator, and a single-outlet exhaust system. The matching 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt with a shift kit, Stage 2 clutches, a drilled spacer plate, and a Corvette servo to optimize shifting performance. The transmission tunnel was modified to accommodate the new unit.

Additional documentation includes service records and a clean Florida title registered in the seller’s name. The convertible top motor was replaced in January 2025, and photos depicting the condition of the body prior to the vinyl wrap application are provided in the gallery.
