Meridian and Lauderdale County students will enjoy a break from the classroom next week as schools mark Thanksgiving break. Meridian Public School District, Lauderdale County School District and Lamar School will all observe Thanksgiving break beginning Monday, Nov. 24 through Friday, Nov. 28. In a news release announcing the break, MPSD said it plans to return to a regular schedule beginning Dec. 1. “This annual break provides students, staff, and families a well-deserved opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy time with loved ones. Regular school and office operations will resume on Monday, December 1, 2025,” the district stated. Lauderdale County schools and Lamar students are set to return to class Dec. 1 as well.
