SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre (SRM SKMCH&RC) has inaugurated a Tobacco Cessation Centre at its Kattankulathur campus. The center is located at the Psychiatry OPD (C-1/37), on the First Floor of C Block, and will operate from Monday to Saturday, between 8 AM and 2 PM.

This initiative supports the Ministry of Health’s Tobacco Free Youth Campaign 2.0, which focuses on educating young people about the dangers of tobacco and substance abuse.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key officials, including SRM MCH&RC’s Dean (Medical), Dr. Nitin M. Nagarkar, Medical Superintendent Dr. R. The Tobacco Cessation Centre offers counseling, treatment, and a dedicated de-addiction ward for individuals seeking to quit tobacco. To provide comprehensive care, the facility is equipped with advanced tools such as a carbon monoxide monitor and a spirometer.
