We think that all cats are beautiful, let’s start with that. We have never had a single purebred cat in our house, and every cat that we have ever had has been the most beautiful cat in the world. But we can understand the appeal of rare and unique cats. Cats like the giant and meowjestic Maine Coons, or the extra fluffy Norwegian Forest cats. We’re fascinated by them, and if we were ever chosen by one of them, we would be celebrating. So, it’s not exactly surprising to us that there are people there exploiting people’s fascination with these cats for money. What we are surprised by every single time that it happens is when cat breeders abandon their cats. It would be so, so easy for these cats to find forever homes. People would jump at the chance to adopt a rare cat like the beautiful brown kitty in this story. But no, it’s easier to just throw them out in the world, leaving them to fend for themselves.
