Echoes of the Past: Headlines tell stories of another era
There are often some surprisingly bizarre headlines in the newspapers from the 1920s, and this week is no different. The commonly-published sensational headlines certainly drew the attention of readers, urging them to dig deeper into the stories. Here’s the first one capturing my attention from November 1925 “Horse jumps onto auto.” A horse jumped onto the car owned by Mathias Dotseth the other evening, breaking the hood and plunging a piece of windshield glass into the lip of Oscar Dotseth, so that he had to have it sewed together. The Dotseths, with their two sons, were motoring to Decorah from Spring Grove to spend the day with relatives. The incident happened while they were passing Reuben Seeegmiller’s place south of Locust. The post Echoes of the Past: Headlines tell stories of another era first appeared on Enterprise Media.
